What is it like to live in Paris? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Paris is a beautiful city that is rich in its culture and history. I love the 4 seasons and the cold weather that we typically get here. However, a lot of basic convenience is missing. Things that are easily available in Asia, in terms of food, transport and accessibility, is lacking.

What is the student lifestyle like in Paris?

It's easy, and quite relaxing.

How much does it cost to live in Paris?

This depends on your lifestyle and how much you spend on food, shopping and etc.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Paris? Is there any advice you can give?

I think it is difficult to find suitable and reasonably priced accommodations in all major cities.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

There are a lot of different cuisines available in Paris, especially Asian cuisines. But, they are more catered to the French tastebuds and may not be as authentic to Asian tastes. My favourite food here are the fresh oysters.

What places would you recommend visiting in Paris?

The usual tourist spots are actually worth visiting!

Is it good to eat out in Paris? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

I usually go to Asian restaurants in Strasbourg -Saint Denis or in Chinatown, and occasionally to seafood places.

Is the nightlife good in Paris? Where is good to go?

I don't go clubbing or drinking. 

What advice would you give future students heading to Paris?

Everything may not be as wonderful and glamorous, as you have envisioned but, it is very possible to survive here!

Also,picking up the French language really helps. A little French goes a long way. Especially when it comes to all things administrative (eg: visa applications), only French works.
