Why did you choose to go to Paris, France?

I am studying at SciencesPo and I really liked the program. I also wanted to explore Europe and Paris is in a good location to have access to other European countries.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I received a scholarship for one year to assist for my living costs. I also receive housing assistance from the French government as a student.

What is the student lifestyle like in Paris?

The student lifestyle is good because there a lot of activities for students. Almost all the museums in Paris are free for students. There are also cafeterias like CROUS that have low prices for students.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Paris to other students?

I would recommend Paris and SciencesPo to other students. It's a great experience.

What is the food like?

There are cheap cafeterias LIKE CROUS. A lot of bakeries and cheap grocery stores.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Paris?

I was assisted by my school to find housing.

How much does it cost to live in Paris?

Accommodation is around 500€/month. It can be more depending on your arrondissement. Fruits and vegetables are not too expensive. A lot of social activities are free for students.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

If you have basic knowledge in French, it is helpful to hear it spoken around you. The longer you stay in Paris, the easier it gets to understand the language. My university also offers language classes.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Paris from your city?

I am from Nigeria, so I flew to Paris.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Paris?

Restaurant de la Mosque for some good Morrocan food.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Musée D'Orsay, the Louvre, Jardin Tuileries and Jardin Luxembourg

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Paris in the future?

Have a realistic budget because life in Paris can be difficult without one.
