What is it like to live in Paris? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

I love Paris!! To tell the truth I have not been an erasmus student there, but an au-pair. Ι would definitely recommend it since I am going there again! It is so full of life! So full of energy! So full of images! It does not necessarily follow the typical accordion, Amelie lalala type. But it certainly has some aura tres speciale:)

What is the student lifestyle like in Paris?

As I said, I was not a student, but Paris offers many different choices for all kind of interests and budgets. If you succeed to find a residence then everything else is a matter of searching and have your eyes and ears open. You never know!

How much does it cost to live in Paris?

Okay approximately for personal expenses I would say 400 euros. Like for food and the basics. Then of course it depends on the lifestyle of each person.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Paris? Is there any advice you can give?

There are many sites for collocation and I would highly recommend it, as well as student dormitories of course (in cite universite or wherever-I think you have to fill in some papers in time)...

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Truth is I am vegetarian and I would mostly buy food from the organic shops..traditional french food includes cheese,meat and of course LA BAGUETTE!

What places would you recommend visiting in Paris?

Everything and everywhere! Sincerely..I have walked and walked and hardly found something I did not like. Personally I prefer Republique-Beaubourg-Belleville etc

Is it good to eat out in Paris? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Yes! I would usually go to rue Bichat or Poissonniere!

Is the nightlife good in Paris? Where is good to go?

Truth is I was not going clubbing etc but for going out you should certainly go to Comptoir General and le canal saint martin, la bellevilloise etc.

What advice would you give future students heading to Paris?

YOUR EYES OPEN AND ENJOY!!
