What is it like to live in Paris? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It has been my city of adoption for over 40 years.
There is always something to do and see here.
There are still families of modest means living here so it hasn't become either a rich or poor ghetto

How much does it cost to live in Paris?

Variable according to accommodation found, however self catering and good food are inexpensive.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Paris? Is there any advice you can give?

Independent accommodation is very expensive but a room in a private flat is usually affordable

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Open markets and small organic food outlets provide a wide variety of food in season and for all taste.

Specialist food shops such as Cheese shops always worth a visit.

Many small supermarkets hold a wide range of products.

What places would you recommend visiting in Paris?

Rather than a particular place, I recommend walking in Paris.
Choose an area and just visit, there is always something of interest in each area, of course some more than others.

Is it good to eat out in Paris? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

"Bistrot type food like that served at La Confidente" very good quite simple but quality products. A favourite eating place is "Chez Vero" with excellent food French/Italian dishes very reasonably priced.

Is the nightlife good in Paris? Where is good to go?

What advice would you give future students heading to Paris?

Try to visit briefly before to find best areas to stay and take public transport to make sure that what is near your University or internship.
