Why did you choose to go to Paris, France?

Its a travelers delight. One of the best student cities in the world.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

No scholarship for me.

What is the student lifestyle like in Paris?

Lots of places to party.. Lots of concessions for students at clubs, pubs and monuments.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Paris to other students?

yes.

What is the food like?

Gastronomy is a specialty of France. I suggest foreign students should come with an open mind to try new things. The more you try, the more your taste horizons widen.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Paris?

I did it through School. Not sure if there was any hidden fee involved.

How much does it cost to live in Paris?

you will spend at least 1200-1500 euros in Paris per month provided you are paying close to 500 for rent. This includes 3-4 weekends in pubs and clubs plus 2 meals out of the house 5 days a week.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes there are, but they will not be very intensive. You must prepare at least 6 months before coming here. Being an english speaker, i found it not too difficult... However, it is very easy to lose touch... I suggest speaking in French as much as possible and gain confidence.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Paris?

Palais Maillot, Club Mixx, Bastille and if you have a bigger group (4-5 people) you can have fun in Chatalet.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Paris?

I have just been to a couple of places in Bastille. They are all pretty good. Definitely try the duck.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

I guess the internet will help you better here.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Paris in the future?

Be prepared for slow administrative processes. Check the fee policy of metro passes, they usually charge for entire periods from Jan and sept. So if you get ur card in march, you still pay for jan and feb,,, Also, save all ticket receipts.. You can submit this to RATP and get refund of first two months when you get the card.. You won;t be able to do anything if you do not have receipts... Not tickets, receipts!!! CArry your student card everywhere... It'll be fun..
