Erasmus Experience in Paris, France by Marta
Why did you choose to go to Paris, France?
good University, Beautiful city
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I got around 300€/month, but all together in the end of the ERAMSUS, but this depends on the home university
What is the student lifestyle like in Paris?
not great, I thought. It´s a big city so students get very dispersed. It didnt help to live in an appartment instead of in a corridor. There´s also not so many internationals.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Paris to other students?
Yes, but they need to know University is demanding and no one will help you on your french
What is the food like?
expensive, but Nice. Carrefour is the best really :)
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Paris?
yes, I had to go with a cousin who lives and works in Paris to get an appartment, otherwise its difficult to get an appartment having no income and being foreigner
How much does it cost to live in Paris?
around 1000€/month (being half of it accomodation)
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
there are language Courses. for me, french was easy to get, but it´s hard in the first couple of months.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Paris from your city?
from Lisbon it´s plane, by easyjet (not Ryanair, Beauvais is way to far and it gets expensive to go to Paris afterwars)
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
all museums are free of charge for students who live in Europe, so I Went to many. my favourite was Musée Rodin.
