Why did you choose to go to Paris, France?
I chose Paris because I love the city! I's a beautiful city with a lot of things to visit and to do.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My scholarship was 5 months. I received about 600euros/month
What is the student lifestyle like in Paris?
I was doing a training on a lab, so I didn't had a student lifestyle..I had to work all day. On weekends I was going out at night but it is a really expensive city...during the day there are a lot of things to visit.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Paris to other students?
I was working on a lab...out of the University, so I didn't had much help from the University. I recommend the city, I think it is a great place to stay for a few months, but I don't see myself living there for a long time
What is the food like?
The food is expensive.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Paris?
It was very difficult for me to find accommodation, it was the hardest thing. And the most expensive.
How much does it cost to live in Paris?
I payed for a room 600 euros, which for me was a lot..I think in overall it was about 800euros.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
In my case, I didn't had courses available in the University..it wasn't allowed to have classes and doing a training at the same time. I never understood why...
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Paris from your city?
Plane
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Paris?
Châtelet
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Paris?
Near Notre Dame..but I don't remember the names.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
musee d'orsay, pompidou were my favourite museums. The theater on cité universitaire is also very good and cheap. Also the cinematheque is very nice.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Paris in the future?
Start to look for accommodation in advance. For me it was the most difficult thing.
