Why did you choose to go to Paris, France?

Because France offers a great deal for students, and Paris is indeed the biggest city of France, the others that follow are not as diverse or cosmopolitans as Paris is. Although it is way too expensive for sure you will find much more opportunities.

What is the student lifestyle like in Paris?

If you are a student and you have been granted with a decent allowance paris is the BEST PLACE to be. Lots of fun, lots of foreigners, great cultural choice, large number of opportunities, its a great place to live your student experience abroad.

What is the food like?

the great gastronomy of France in general, to my opinion is a myth. nothing is too elaborated or too gourmet, unless you go to very expensive restos. There are not very much traditional places to eat other than the brasseries which menus lack of creativity and yet are expensive. You will more likely find fusion food or foreign food that are good, delicious, and not that expensive

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Paris?

WOW! THAT IS INDEED THE WORST PART EVER. I had the worst experience trying to find a place to live in the city. There are tons of offers outside Paris, yet not convenient and still expensive.

It is hectic, dramatic and frustration.. but achievable. Look up with time and when you spot something that you consider good and decent enough do not hesitate and rush for it, it might not be available the next day.

The regular conditions are security deposit a warrantor and tax certificates. if you lack of any of them, then the quest gets even harder.

It is not impossible to find a nice and cute place to live, but it take time and DEDICATION.

Plan ahead!

You can have flat mates roomates rent a mini mini mini small studio, etc you have options, try to think which one suits you better.

housing and accommodation is the big drama of Paris.

How much does it cost to live in Paris?

At least you need 1000-1200 euros per month if you live in zone 1 and 2.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

French grammar is not easy... not even for Spanish, Portuguese or Italians. try also to do a french course before comming here. Because unless you push yourself you wont understand. Here you will find tons of english speaking people, and french when they hear a different accent they go directly to English. Therefore you will not have the chance to practice your French.

The university courses are fine, but they are not a life saver, the best way is to enroll in a French course and force yourself to speaking at all times.
