Why did you choose to go to Paris, France?

I chose Paris because of the quality of the company, which accepted me for the internship. However, it was the best experience and would choose this city for the international feeling, culture and customs again.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

Two months, 1400eu.

What is the student lifestyle like in Paris?

I worked long hours and didn't go to parties a lot. However, I have no doubts that it's possible to find everything you need in this amazing city. You can find international students everywhere.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Paris to other students?

Yes, definitely.

What is the food like?

Amazing and expensive. It's difficult to have lunch/dinner outside, especially if you are living from the scholarship only. I managed to find some perfect price-quality balance around my living area so I think it's doable.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Paris?

It was difficult but with a little of knowledge of French I managed to find a nice studette in the very center, it costed around 600eu/month.

How much does it cost to live in Paris?

A lot. Though it depends on what you are going to do on your free days.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

It's very difficult and pretty difficult to immerse yourself in the culture without any knowledge of French. Courses are available (some are free), but they start on the fixed term and continues for around 5 months.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Paris from your city?

Direct flight to Beauvais.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Paris?

Many Erasmus parties are organized, I'd recommend these ones!

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Paris?

Just go on a Tripadvisor, the only top secrets were Aux Merveilleux de Fred and Pierre Herme, L'AS du Fallafel and the terrasse of Lafayete, just for the view.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Try undiscovered ones: Bercy, La Villette, Natural History museum, artists' house in Rue de Rivoli - just go everywhere and you'll become an expert yourself! In addition, I'd recommend free tours for the very beginning. They will help you to familiarize with the city!

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Paris in the future?

Just take the chance, travel around, go to Parc Asterix, Lille, Lyon, go to free jazz concerts and take possibilities you see. You will have the best time in your life!
