Why did you choose to go to Pardubice, the Czech Republic?
It chose me.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
I stayed there from September until March (winter semester).
What is the student lifestyle like in Pardubice?
The food in Menza is terrible, but close to the dorm, there is a place called Didi Baba, where you can eat delicious food. If you like drinking, you will like Pardubice because alcohol there is cheap. Besides, there are lots of nice places to visit.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Pardubice to other students?
Yep.
What is the food like?
Czech cuisine is delicious. If you go to a bar, order Hermelín.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Pardubice?
No. There are dormitories.
How much does it cost to live in Pardubice?
You can live there comfortably for €400 a month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
It is easy if you are Slavic. Some professors speak English.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Pardubice from your city?
By bus.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Pardubice?
Ačko, and then Hobe.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Pardubice?
Didi Baba, Velvet Passage...
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
Litomyšil, Hradec Králové and some towns protected by UNESCO.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Pardubice in the future?
PS: the best beer is Svijany.
