I want to find a house NOW!

Experience in Padua, Italy by Ana Rosa

How was living in Padua for you? Would you recommend it?

Not really. For workers, there isn't a lot of work. It's only a town for students, and because of this, it's very difficult.

What's the student atmosphere like in Padua?

Very mixed! The students are always moving about...

How much does it cost to live in Padua?

It costs a lot.

Is it hard to find a place to live in Padua? Could you offer any advice?

It's extremely complicated! I've searched in the past and haven't found anything. I'm currently searching again now and I still can't find a room with a bathroom or a room for me and my husband to share whilst travelling in Italy. We urgently need offers for non-students on holiday who don't want to stay in a B&B or hotel.

What's the food like there? What are some of your favourite dishes?

Of the food, I can't really say a lot - I haven't eaten that much food in the city. There's pasta, rice, risotto, red meat, fish, chicken, turkey, veggie dishes, salads, and more.

In your opinion, which places should you visit in Padua?

The various churches, the cathedral, Prato della Valle, the museum and parks.

When it comes to eating out in Padua, can you name some of your favourite places?

I can't really speak about food in Padua, nor do I know many places - sorry!

Where would you recommend going out in Padua?

I'm a woman and I haven't found places because when I came to Padua, I stayed in the student flat where my daughter lives and ate there, as I couldn't find a place for myself.

Any advice would you give to future visitors in Padua?

Yes! When it comes to visiting Padua, you should stay in the neighbouring areas and outskirts because rooms in Padua are extremely difficult to find - there are only hotels and B&B's which cost too much!
