Experience in Padua, Italy
What is life in Padua like? Would you recommend it?
Padua is a town dominated by its university, the centre presents the typical architectural features of a city that grew and developed around the medieval old town.
This is why the traffic in town isn't fast, an issue that can be easily remedied if you ride a bicycle. This also allows you to enjoy the views of the Patavini Palace as you quickly go about your way.
What is the student atmosphere like in Padua?
The student ambience is quite varied, given that the faculties and the courses are numerous. The number of students who choose to study here is almost 20, 000, both from across the region and the country as a whole.
Unfortunately, the bureaucracy in many of the faculties remains long and tedious. Despite this, there are various services offered to students and the University seeks to get students involved and allows them to have a different experience than that of the city where they study.
What is the food like there? What are some of your favourite dishes?
In Padua, you'll find the most varied cuisines from countries further afield than Italy.
In your opinion, where are the places to visit in Padua?
Prato della Valle, The Basilica of S. Antonio, the Duomo, the dell'Arena Gardens, the Moroni Palace, the Zabarella Palace and many others.
And when it comes to eating out in Padua? Could you talk about some of your preferred places?
Outside of the city centre, it's possible to find the best locals, one which I prefer is the "Barra Larga" steak restaurant.
