What is living in Padova like? Would you recommend it?

Padova is a small city, but not too much. It would seem like this because the historical centre is small, but the truth is that it has lots of quarters around its outskirts. I would recommend it because it's the sort of city where you couldn't ask for more... there's everything: architecture, parties, places to spend your free time, young people and various local haunts.

What is student life like in Padova?

Amazing! Padova has around 70, 000 students every year... and to live in a city made for the students, it's worth it to live there!

How much does it cost to live in Padova?

It isn't very expensive, but it's not too cheap either...In comparison to Spain, here in Italy it's all a bit more expensive... but nothing is astronomically expensive.

Were there any problems finding accommodation in Padova? Could you give any advice on finding a place to live?

If you've got to choose between finding a flat or living in student halls, I'd 100% recommend finding a flat. The only advantage of student halls is that you get to know more people in a smaller amount of time. Finding a flat isn't difficult, but if you want the perfect flat for you, you should really head out to Padova at the start of September (remember around 70, 000 students are also looking for a place to live).

What's the food like there? What are some of your favourite dishes?

Really good! The typical cuisine is pasta, pizza... there are lots of varieties of both... there's also lots of sweet things (mainly ice cream and tiramisu).

Where are some good places for eating out in Padova?

Trattoria Piave, Pizzeria al Duomo, Zairo, Fradei Kempes.

Where would you recommend for going out in Padova?

Clubs such as Factory, Fishmarket, Bimbo, Q and Radio Sherwood.

And bars such as Zanellato, San Clemente, Sfizio and Fly.

Do you have any advice to give to future students going to Padova?

Have fun with all your ERASMUS friends... you've only got around 6/9/12 months there, make friends with the ESN group - they're really nice!

See you in Padova!
