Erasmus Experience in Padua, Italy by Adrian
Why did you decide to go to Padua, Italy?
I study Psychology and Padova has one of the best faculties in Italy for my degree.
How long does your grant last? How much financial aid do you receive?
My grant lasts for 6 months, I receive the EU grant which is 300 euros a month, I don't receive anything from the department.
What is the student atmosphere like in Padua?
Padova is an Erasmus town. You could compare it to Salamanca or Granada.
Would you recommend the town and the University of Padua to other students?
Definitely!
What's the food like in Italy?
Pasta, pizza, ice cream.... unsurprising, right?
Was it hard to find a place to live in Padua?
The contracts usually last a year, and for those who stay for the first semester and have to leave in February, a substitute will need to be found. Padova has the best prices in all of Italy in terms of flat-renting.
How much does it cost to live in Padua?
You can live on 500 euros a month. It depends on how much each person spends.
How was language-learning? Did you go to any course at the University?
The language, the language... Well, you can learn Italian quickly if you practise. There are lots of Spanish students though, and one tends to stick to their own language.
What is the cheapest way of getting to Padua from your city?
Madrid to Bologna by flight, and then the Bologna-Padova train. You can also fly from Milan.
And how did you find the cultural sights?
It's pretty.
