Why did you choose to go to Padua, Italy?
I was always in love with Italy, especially with the northern part of it. I chose Padova because I knew that living would be cheaper than my other possibility- Bologna.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
It was for 5 months and each month I got 500 euros.
What is the student lifestyle like in Padua?
Padua is a small city full of students. It has wonderful nightlife designed for not only Italians but also abroad students.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Padua to other students?
Absolutely.
What is the food like?
Pasta! Pizza! Spritz! The definition of Padova. Italy is fairly known for its culinary goodness.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Padua?
No, I was offered University dormitory.
How much does it cost to live in Padua?
500 euros is enough to live but if you want to travel I would say you have to have around 700 euros per month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
The language is not the easiest but very manageable. University offers wonderful courses which help a lot.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Padua from your city?
I had to take a flight to Milan and then a train.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Padua?
Anywhere in the center. The nightlife happens on the small streets of Padova.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Padua?
Il Campanile and Al Duomo are the best or pizza and La Romana wins in gelateria department.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
The center is very historic. There are a lot of places to visit and some secret ones that take time to find, so be adventurous.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Padua in the future?
Take every opportunity and enjoy the best that Padova has to offer.
