Why did you choose to go to Padua, Italia?
I wanted to go somewhere in Italy, my university offered only three or four cities which I could choose. I checked some rankings I university of Padova did very well so I've chosen that place! I have to admit that I don't regret!
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
My scholarship took 5 months, I received 1400 euro.
What is the student lifestyle like in Padua?
Hmm, they use bicycle, they meet together every Wednesday night at piazza dell'erbe, they study together and eat together at university mensas. All in all these are very nice people!
Would you recommend the city and the University of Padua to other students?
Yes, surely. The university is very good, there are many activities offered for Erasmus students, Padova is close to other famous italian cities. I had there great time!
What is the food like?
Hmm, italian food is good everywhere! I ate at mensas, where food is tasty or I cooked with my friends - that were cheaper and it makes fun cooking together!
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Padua?
To find it - not. I received accomodation from sassa, a double room (as I wished) at one student residence.
How much does it cost to live in Padua?
I think that around 500 euro per month.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Yes! Italian is the most beautiful language in the world and it's easy to learn. I partecipated a free language course (it's free only for one semester).
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Padua from your city?
The bus... I could took many staff. I could also take airplane but form my place the connection is only to Bologna, so then I would have travel by train... So I've chosen the bus.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Padua?
There are some clubs, but for me nicest place was at piazza dell erbe where are many students just sitting there, drinking wine, singing, talking... Awesome atmosphere!
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Padua?
Oh, I don't know. I don't remember well... I did't eat out a lot..
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
There are a lot of things you have to see - the most important is the basilic of St. Antony and the chaple with the frescoes of Giotto ant the botanical garden and astronomical osservatory and.... and many many others...Esn will show you everything.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Padua in the future?
Buy a bicycle, speak italian, do many trips and have fun!
