What is it like to live in Novi Sad? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Nightlife is crazy. However there is still no many international students... so small number of foreigners. Local people are hospitable. City is safe and secure. Price of food and accommodation is super low... you will have nice experience.

What is the student lifestyle like in Novi Sad?

Great place to learn, but as there is a small number of Erasmus students you will be directed to taste local life style and to meet local people.

How much does it cost to live in Novi Sad?

Approx. 350 euro including:

  • Accommodation and bills
  • Transport
  • Food

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Novi Sad? Is there any advice you can give?

You can contact university staff they will help you find accommodation.

There are also some AirBnb options as well.

However, local people are a bit suspicious about offering their properties when foreign students are concerned (because of partying etc. )

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

The food is delicious. Meat, fruits and vegetables are amazingly tasty because it is still local production on small farms and agricultural land. Serbian people do eat a lot and drink a lot. National domestic drink is rakia (strong short alcohol drink). Wines are amazingly good as well...

What places would you recommend visiting in Novi Sad?

Petrovaradin Fortress and Karlovci.
