What is it like to live in Nicosia? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Nicosia is the Capital city of Cyprus, its in the center of the island. It's kinda big and busy city. Its nice because it looks like you have two cities in one, the old city and the new city

What is the student lifestyle like in Nicosia?

many students are in Nicosia because the most universities of the island are hosted there. you can meet a lot of students everywhere, there are nice places like cafe, bars , clubs etc. the universities are also nice, they have cafeterias inside to spend your free time.

How much does it cost to live in Nicosia?

If you staying alone its about 500-700 euros including everything (rend, transportation, going out, food)

If you share your apartment you I guess it will be about 100 euros less.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Nicosia? Is there any advice you can give?

No its really easy, because you can find a lot of apartments near to the universities, some of them also offer student residence.
you can also find places in a newspaper and there are some "house finding agency" that can help you.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

really nice food!!
you can find a lot of places that offer delicious food! ( taverns, good restaurants, fast foods, gourmet restaurants etc) Cypriot traditional food its awesome and I'm sure that everybody is gonna love it! try for sure : souvla, sheftalia and halloumi!
in Nicosia you can also find different kind of cuisines like Chinese- Japanese an sushi restaurants, Mexican, Italian etc.
You will eat large quantity with good quality

What places would you recommend visiting in Nicosia?

- The old town

- The Cyprus Handicraft Center
- Ledra Museum Observatory
- Makariou shopping street
- The mall of cyprus

Is it good to eat out in Nicosia? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Avo armenian food at onasagorou street ( really cheap and delicious!)
Ocean basket (sea food and sushi)
Ayia Anna traditional tavern

Is the nightlife good in Nicosia? Where is good to go?

It's really good! they organizing s every Wednesday and Thursday students night at "occhio Club" and erasmus party at "Ithaki club".
"zoo club" its very cool club with nice people and music.
"scarabeo bar" its more casual place to go for dancing and every day it plays different kind of music ( r&b, reggae etc)
Havana bar ( little bit expensive)
people who like alcohol must visit Noblesse club, its open bar :)

What advice would you give future students heading to Nicosia?

Don't stop partying! :) meet new people, Cypriots are very friendly!
try to find every single pretty place in Nicosia and don't stay at the typical ones!
