Would you recommend the city and the University of Nicosia to other students?

I'm not studying at the University of Nicosia, I'm at the university of Cyprus, it has two campuses, I'm in the new and it has really good facilities (gym, tennis courts, football pitch... ), I definitely recommend the University of Cyprus.

What is the food like?

The food is really good, the food that you can find everywhere is the "suvlakis" chicken, pork with chips whatever you want.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Nicosia?

First I stayed at the hall of residence, but it was really far away from the city center and I left it, I stayed 3 days in the youth hostel and then found a flat with the help of the Erasmus coordinator of the university (Chariklia Charalambous).

The life in Nicosia is not really expensive but between Spain and Nicosia I can see that food is much more expensive here.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes! You can take courses of Spanish, Italian, French... I'm doing a beginner course of Greek.

The easiest way is to go to Larnaca and then to take the Kapnos airport shuttle. But it's preferable for the first time when going to Larnaca because it's a bit more expensive.

In Nicosia there is something to do for Erasmus students, everyday. Everything is posted on Facebook house parties, Candy (Hashtag Club), Ithaki, Zoo club.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Nicosia?

  • Casa Vieja Restaurant (Spanish)
  • Wagamama (shushi)
  • All the restaurants of Ledras street

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The old city and the Turkish part, you can also go on day-trips to Troodos and the villages. This trips are organized by the European club (you don't have to pay anything, only the costs of the trip, and they do not earn anything with this trips or the parties).
