Why did you choose to go to Nicosia, Cyprus?

I wanted to visit this island because of the good education system and its special history.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship was 4 months, 500euro/month.

It depends, you have many choices such as parties, bars, festival, traditional restaurants and a lot of celebrations.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Nicosia to other students?

Of course.

What is the food like?

The food is enough tasty especially if you like meat. They have many traditional dishes. Every restaurant in Cyprus serve very large portions.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Nicosia?

250/month for rent in hostel, shared bathroom and kitchen.

How much does it cost to live in Nicosia?

The life in Nicosia is not really expensive but it depends on the life that you want to do.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

You have many opportunities because the staff are able to speak many languages.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Nicosia from your city?

The easiest way is coming to Larnaca and then take the Kapnos airport shuttle but you can flight with Ryanair to Paphos and then take the Shuttle bus to Nicosia. Intercity buses are the best option to go around in Cyprus.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Nicosia?

If you prefer clubbing you can go to Ithaki or zoo club but if you want something more relaxed you can go in Ledras there are a lot of bars and traditional places.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Nicosia?

Cyprus is very famous for its cuisine the food here is like a ritual. You can go at the restaurants of Ledras street such as "Piatsa Gourounaki" and "Armenian place", also there are Italian and Chinese restaurants.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

There are a lot of museums such as Cyprus and Levantis museum, libraries, archaeological monuments like Khirokitia, Curium, park of Athalassos. The old city of Nicosia is the most beautiful area of the city.
