Why did you choose to go to Nicosia, Cyprus?

Hi my name is john i came to cyprus on 2013 to study hospitality management the reason why i chose cyprus is because i wanted to experince another culture and to gain some experince. i am really happy am studying in university of nicosia because am meeting new people from different countries.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship is for two years i receive money from my parents for living expenses.

What is the student lifestyle like in Nicosia?

The student lifestyle is very enjoyable because you can travel other regions like limasol,lanaka,pafos and Ayia napa.The living expenses is quite expensive.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Nicosia to other students?

i recommend other students to come and study in university of nicosia to study and gain some experince.

What is the food like?

The food is quite expensive but its very delicious especially the cypriot food have learnt alot from the cypriot food. i recommend every student to try the cypriot food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Nicosia?

yah it cost me because i have to pay a deposit in order to have the house but it was a good experience.

How much does it cost to live in Nicosia?

The total amount is 800 to 1000 euros for everything rent plus upkeep.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language is quite challenging but you can learn few words for greek language but you can learn other languages like German,French,Spanish,Russia and Greek.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Nicosia from your city?

The easiest way of travelling to another city is using a bus becasue it is much cheaper.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Nicosia?

i recommend students to travel to limasol and Ayia napa it is a very nice place to relax with your friends and have fun.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Nicosia?

There are many restaurants wich are cheaper to visit.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The best places to visit are pafos and limasol for culture visit.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Nicosia in the future?

The advise i can give to every students who are looking forward to come and study in university of nicosia to work very hard and focus with their studies and to have fun.
