Why did you choose to go to Napoli, Italy?

Why? I love Italy, it there is a lot of beautiful places, amazing people and good food. I chose Naples, because I wanted to be near the sea and in my opinion south Italy is nicer than north, so that's why I didn't choose Milan for example.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I was there 5 months, I got from University 1500 Euro (300 Euro per month).

What is the student lifestyle like in Napoli?

Piazza Bellini (drinking) + Clubs (dancing).

Would you recommend the city and the University of Napoli to other students?

Of course! I love this place and I love University Federico II (Political Science Department! ). There is a lot of things to see, a lot of good restaurants, erasmus parties all the time. In Naples everything is easier, people don't care so much about problems, they are happy. Of course streets are very dirty and this is a big problem in Naples, but after one month you get used to live there with thrushes. At University there is a lot of polite and nice people. I will remember my tutors and students all my life. I miss them a lot.

What is the food like?

In Naples you can find the best pizza, ice creams and coffee. You can eat a lot of tasty things on the street, a lot of delicious sweets... I recommend you three "pizzerias": Sorbillo, Decumani, Di Matteo (all at via Tribunali). But you have to remember that on Friday and Saturday evening, there are lot of people and you have to wait quite a bit in the queue.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Napoli?

No, I have found it on Internet.

How much does it cost to live in Napoli?

You have to pay about 200 Euro for single room + more or less 100 Euro for living (with phone and Internet). But, of course, you have to have money for parties/sightseeing, etc.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are courses at University. Italian isn't hard language.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Napoli from your city?

I recommend only trip by plane. From Warsaw to Rome or from Katowice to Naples. It is only 2 hours journey and cost is not high.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Napoli?

I recommend you Arienile Club by the sea, also Platinium. But you have to go at Piazza Bellini of course! And by the sea to see Vesuvio at night! But girls, you shouldn't walking alone...

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Napoli?

I wrote earlier. I recommend Sorbillo, Decumani and Di Matteo. If you want to eat good ice creams, Fantasia Gelati or Casa Infante. A very popular italian restaurant is Nennella.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

You have to visit:

  • Pompei
  • Vesuvio
  • Chiesa Duomo
  • Piazza Plebiscito
  • Piazza Dante
  • Via Tribunali
  • Lungomare
  • Isole: Procida, Capri, Ischia

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Napoli in the future?

You have to pay attention on the street, there is a lot of young robbers, who steal bags with documents, cameras and phones. This is very big problem. Don't go on the street with phone or camera in your hand.
