What is it like to live in Montpellier? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Montpellier is a " Big small city " : it's enough big to find what you want, party, shopping, beach (at 20 min on car),... but it's enough small to cross the center walking and people aresmiling and friendly like in a village! ( Welle it depend, but if you are friendly, people will give it to you back)

What is the student lifestyle like in Montpellier?

Studying, and then, going to the beach, drinking in one of the "inombrable" bar or chilling with friends in our flat, waiting the night to have fun! You just have to know what kind of party do you like, then you have to search where and when can you find it, and then, you meet people and musics for you! (salsa, electro, reggae, opera... )

How much does it cost to live in Montpellier?

costs are normal. you can eat with 5 euros (cheese naan) or with 70 euros, it depend to you!

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Montpellier? Is there any advice you can give?

It's not difficult to find. Don't pass by "agences immobilières" if you can, do it directly with particular. Take care to do well the inventory when you arrive in the flat, because at the end, every little things can be reproach to you.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Cheese naan

You can it of what you want! For food, Montpellier is big, a lot of restaurant are waiting for you!

What places would you recommend visiting in Montpellier?

Place de la Comédie, Place Jean Jaurés ( a lot of pubs), Place de l'Europe, Odysseum, Parc de la préfecture ( arret Hotel du département ligne 3), le Jardi des Plantes, le parc du Peyrou, the beach, and for the nigth clubber : urban club (odysseum), La villa rouge (electro "route de Palavas) and le Yaka 10 meters from La villa rouge)

Is the nightlife good in Montpellier? Where is good to go?

Villa rouge, urban club, Yaka : (electro); O'bar, La cote : (commercial big night club)

Pubs : Red turtle (little pub very friendly people), l'Enchanté, l'Australian bar,...

What advice would you give future students heading to Montpellier?

Don't be afraid of people from the street. Sun is mostly of the time shinning, so people who live in the street like Montpellier. They just need sympathy and consideration, just give them a smile and that's it!

Try to pass the night in the street playing guitar and singing, a lot of people do it during the summer and it's the best way to meet people! Have fun! (and visit La Villa Rouge if you like electro, it's the best night club ever !)
