Why did you choose to go to Montpellier, France?

First of is a calm city and low cost in terms of expenses. The city has a sea and the weather is mild, not always cold. Most importantly it is known as 'ville d’étudiants'(city of students in French) because there are numerous universities and high schools of different fields in the city.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I'll stay in Montpellier for a whole academic year (10 months) and I receive not less than 700 € a month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Montpellier?

The student lifestyle is very good if you're a partying type.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Montpellier to other students?

Yes of course! Because the patterns of studies is every competitive and in order. The city boasts of having produced good students all over the country.

What is the food like?

I really like tacos and kebabs.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Montpellier?

No it didn’t because my coordinator got me the university accommodation managed by what they call Crous

How much does it cost to live in Montpellier?

Hmmm... it is difficult to say since it depends on individual preferences and choices. For me it costs 600 € a month more or less including outings and traveling expenses (the cost of transportation), since it takes me 30 min from my residence to reach my faculty by tram.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language will be easy depending on your level. Most language courses are French and English.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Montpellier from your city?

Travelling with FlixBus is the most economical way.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Montpellier?

I will go to the centre city at a nice bar close to their prefecture.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Montpellier?

Crous provide food for students at 3,25 euros a whole menu. You can get it as lunch as well as supper. You can also get so many good restaurants at the centre city call Comédie; actually so many restaurants are around

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

I haven’t come across one but the university organizes some.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Montpellier in the future?

I will like to say it is a city where you can fully have fun because almost every single day there is a party for students most especially Erasmus students. Nonetheless you must prioritize your time well so that it doesn’t affect your aces mics because the academics status in Montpellier needs concentration. The weather is so good even during the winter. It is not cold as one will expect.
