What is it like to live in Montpellier? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Montpellier is an awesome city ! It's not a BIG city, so when you walk in the city center, it's cool to meet people you know. The city center is really nice by the way ! Lots of bars, so many persons in the street... There are also great malls for person who like to shop !

What is the student lifestyle like in Montpellier?

Depends the university. So I'll talk about the one I know : Paul Valery Montpellier 3. it's a nice university. You'll heard a lot of bad things about it, but don't worry, you'll lik it of you go there. People there are open minded, it's a quite big campus, you can lay on the grass waiting for your classes starting... Oh yes. You an do that almost al the year cause we have 300days of sun per year :) and you have a lot of free time to go out for a drink with your friends... A good life !

How much does it cost to live in Montpellier?

Could be expensive. Lets say 400 for a studio, but you can have some help from the government. And so it will be around 200€. And after depends if you party and where. But it will be, for sure, less expensive than Paris :)
450-500€ per month could be enough.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Montpellier? Is there any advice you can give?

Montpellier is the 1st student city in France ! So easy to find roommates, or small studios. And you can ask for a room on the university campus.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

When you are student, you don't have enough money to eat in good restaurants. But you can find some traditional ones for less than 20€. Or you have kebabs almost everywhere in the city !

What places would you recommend visiting in Montpellier?

Place de la comedie, Jardin du peyrou, Antigone, Jardin des plantes, ecusson... (Search on google). And you have nice cities around (nimes, sete, carcassonne...). You also have the beach really close.

Is it good to eat out in Montpellier? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Rue de l'universite is a good street to eat. Close to the university of law.

Is the nightlife good in Montpellier? Where is good to go?

Really nice. Lot of bars. But only few clubs in the city (not the good ones). You need to go out if the city to find the big ones. You can go there with a night bus or tramway.

You'll have lot of fun in this city :) I won't give you an advice, you'll see everything by yourself !
