Why did you choose to go to Montpellier, France?

It was my second choice but I always fancied spending time in the south of France, and I did French in secondary school so France was the obvious option.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I got 3/4 of my grant in October which was around 1700€ but it doesn’t even cover half of my rent

What is the student lifestyle like in Montpellier?

Montpellier is full of students which is very good. You feel very at home with everyone

Would you recommend the city and the University of Montpellier to other students?

Absolutely. It’s a great place full of great people

What is the food like?

Eating out is expensive but from what I’ve experienced it’s really tasty!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Montpellier?

It was so so expensive to find accommodation. I pay 590€ a month. But I know friends of mine who pay 700€

How much does it cost to live in Montpellier?

About 150-200€ a week

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes and yes

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Montpellier?

Find a bar with a good happy hour all of the nightclubs are really expensive

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Montpellier?

As I said I don’t eat out much but Broc Café is good and affordable

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

The Arc de Triomphe, Sète( a small town outside of Montpellier), Château de Flaugranes ( excuse my spelling)
