Medellin is an excellent place to live in, with many public spaces to enjoy everything and the ease of having everything very close by.

How is student life in Medellin?

Excellent. Our city has a lot of Universities with inter-institutional agreements which permit the use of several of the spaces without being a student directly; and the Universities are generally located in close proximity to others because they are distinct student spaces.

How much does it cost to live in Medellin?

In being the capital city, it's a little more costly than the country's other cities but it isn't too expensive such as the Capital which is Bogota. You will be good on 700, 000 Colombian pesos, depending on the zone, of course.

Was it hard to find accomodation in Medellin? Can you give any advice?

There are many areas to live in. For example, there is the Carlos E. Restrepo, which is an area of exclusively student residences near to the Universidad Nacional, to the UdeA, to the Luis Amigó, Salazar, Herrera and others.

How is the country's food? What are your favourite dishes?

Colombian food is excellent. Specifically in Medellin, there is a soup called Sancocho and it's nice.

Which places do you recommend visiting in Medellin?

In Medellin, get to know it's parks such as the Parque de los Deseos, Barefoot Park, the Ciudad del Río area, go to Santa Elena and get to know the Arví park; in additional to the shopping centres such as Santa Fé and Premium Plaza.

To eat, any of the restaurants in the shopping centres.

Which places do you recommend to go out and party in Medellin?

Rumba in Medellin is spectacular in the Lleras areas, which is a park several blocks away from the Poblado park; and several clubs on calle 33 or in Laureles 70 in the stadium and the UPB area.

Any advice that you want to give to future students in Medellin?

Enjoy this beautiful city but with caution. As in any place, there are some places which aren't so safe, nor so recommendable; but the idea is to enjoy where you can and to live experiences that only Medellin can bring.
