Why did you choose to go to Mannheim, Germany?
The Political Science School is growing every year getting more and more international students and international prestige
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
It lasted 5 months and I received around 200€.
What is the student lifestyle like in Mannheim?
It is really easy to meet international and German people and have great time with them! Besides, the university has everything: a gym, a cafè, and a library in each school.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Mannheim to other students?
The University is really good, although the city is not really nice. However, once you get into it, you find really nice places. Besides, you can easily have great parties and nightlife events.
What is the food like?
It is almost impossible to miss your favourite food! You can find every kind of cuisine, from German to Italian, passing through Spanish and Turkish.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Mannheim?
I paid 445 € for accommodation, but it usually ranges from 250 to 600€. However, you must be aware that you should look for it really early.
How much does it cost to live in Mannheim?
Living here costs from 700€ per month upwards.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Not at all. Besides, the courses are only available for a really small number of people, so you have to be lucky during the booking phase.
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Mannheim from your city?
The best way to go to Mannheim is probably by car or by plane.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Mannheim?
There's a bunch of clubs, such as Soho, Tiffany, and Zimmer, among others.
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Mannheim?
For pizza, I recommend going to Da Clarissa, but if you prefer kebab, you should go close to the train station.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
You just have to travel a bit around the region.
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Mannheim in the future?
Look for a bike!
