Why did you choose to go to Mannheim, Germany?

I got accepted in an international program so the first destination was Heidelberg University, and my faculty was located in Mannheim

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

two years, a scholarship of one thousand a month for people living outside Europe.

What is the student lifestyle like in Mannheim?

It's quite chill, clubs, cinemas, and restaurants available for everyone. Knowing some German is good, but you can totally live without it.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Mannheim to other students?

The city is not too pretty, but it has many things to do compared to other cities. I'm from Heidelberg University though.

What is the food like?

You can get a lot of good Turkish food, and many other nice things like Flammkuchen and Currywurst. Beer is a must in this country, specially the wheat beer.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Mannheim?

It took me around 3 months in advance by websites like wg-gesucht, but after that it was all great.

How much does it cost to live in Mannheim?

It costs around 800 a month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

German is not so easy, but German courses are available indeed at the University of Mannheim.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Mannheim from your city?

From Santiago, there are not many cheap ways to get there tbh haha

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Mannheim?

Chaplin club, Alte Feuerwache and Jungbusch district are good for going out

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Mannheim?

I like Alte Feuerwache but just to chill

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

You rather go to Heidelberg for that
