Why did you choose to go to Lund, Sweden?

Lund University is on the 60. place in the world ranking of universities. I chose it mainly because of it, and because it has a long tradition. The city is small, but very lovely, and really international.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I got money only for one semester, but I decided to stay whole year.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lund?

There is a lot of Nations - pubs/clubs only for students, where you can drink and eat for the half price than in normal pubs in the city.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lund to other students?

Yes! People from around the world, nice and pretty buildings. Atmosphere here is amazing.

What is the food like?

Restaurants are expensive. Cheaper is in Nations, but I cook at home. If you want to try Swedish dishes the only option is to go to IKEA in Malmö. In the city, there is a lot of Italian restaurants, kebabs, and sushi places.

In the supermarkets you can buy the same food as you have at home.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lund?

A lot of nerves.

How much does it cost to live in Lund?

Depends where do you live. The prices for rent are between 2000-5000 kr/month. I spend about 500-600 euro/month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There is a lot of courses in English (I think even more then just in Swedish). And of course you can learn some Swedish too.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lund from your city?

There're two airports near Lund - in Malmo and in Copenhagen. From Warsaw the cheapest is to travel with Wizzair to Malmo.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lund?

If you like clubbing - nations, if you prefer just drinking beer - Ariman's (but it's more expensive than in nations). I prefer going to corridor parties at student houses

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lund in the future?

Bring a lot of alcohol and warm clothes from home. Remember - alcohol in Sweden you can only buy in System Bolaget, which is open till 18. 00 during weekdays, and on Saturday till 15. 00. And alcohol there is really expensive.

And buy a bike and a good lock as soon as you get there.
