I choose Lund, Sweden, to see a northern country and the way people live there.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

The scholarship lasted three months(Sep 2016 - Dec 2016). I received 2400€ from the Erasmus program to cover the living costs.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lund?

Student life is great, you meet students from around the world. There are many opportunities to meet and make new friends whether you prefer to go to a student lounge to relax and party, go on an excursion, join a sports team or other student events.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lund to other students?

Yes, I would recommend the city and the University of Lund to other students because life in Lund combines studies with rich cultural traditions and the energy and dynamism of young students.

What is the food like?

I find Swedish traditional food delicious.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Lund?

It was very difficult to find a private accommodation because Lund is a university town and the demands are very high.

How much does it cost to live in Lund?

With 500 euros per month you can afford accommodation and meals.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

If you know a little of German and English, I think you can learn the Swedish language effortlessly.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Lund from your city?

Because I was staying very close to Lund, I think the cheapest way to go there would be traveling by bus.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lund?

It's fun to visit all the activities and parties they organized, especially during the first few weeks. There are also bars and clubs in the town and in the nearby city of Malmö, but I wouldn't really advise going there regularly, as it's just too expensive. Most students go to the Nations, anyway.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Lund?

I went for dinner a few times because getting lunch outside is expensive in Sweden, but for fast food, I would recommend Max.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Obviously, you need to visit the cathedral, have a look inside. There's also lots of cultural activities in Lund, but if you love sports, I recommend Eoshallen.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lund in the future?

I advise every student to travel. For me, it was the first experience and I consider that any student can combine their studies with traveling in a pleasant way. So, travel because you have so much to see in the beautiful Sweden!
