How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I receive about 2000 euros for a 9-month stay, that’s almost nothing.

What is the student lifestyle like in Lund?

Lund is a 100% university city.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Lund to other students?

Sure, but they should have enough money since Sweden is an expensive place to live.

What is the food like?

They don’t have any typical dish, your salvation will be ICA or Willys.

Was it difficult to find accommodation in Lund?

Yes, it was really hard. I could find a place thanks to AF Bostäder’s lottery, but you need to be alert.

How much does it cost to live in Lund?

About 800 euros per month.

What about the language? Did you attend any Swedish course at the university?

Initially, the university offers you a one month intensive Swedish course, but then you might not keep learning the language because everybody speaks perfect English.

What's the most economical way to travel to Lund from your city?

By plane. If you’re excited about travelling to Lund by car, it is possible too.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Lund?

The Nations. They’re amazing, but you need to know that they close before 3 am, so if you have money and feel like partying you better go Malmö or Copenhagen.

And for eating? Can you name your favorite places?

The Nations are the best place to eat. They’re cheap but they only allow students, though you’ll always have Lundafalafel, next to H&M.

What about a cultural visit?

There’s the cathedral, the library and the university, that’s it!

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Lund in the future?

Don’t get excited, Swedes are sourpusses. Go to the Nations and good luck with your mentor group.
