Why did you choose to go to Los Angeles, United States?

It's not like I was considering other options, but I had an opportunity and asked myself "why not"? And I do not regret my decision at all.

How long does the scholarship last? How much money do you receive for financial help?

In my case, I did not have a scholarship for this particular program. So I can't be of much assistance on this issue.

What is the student environment like in Los Angeles?

It's great. It's easy to integrate and make friends.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Los Angeles to other students?

Yes, I highly recommend.

How is the food in the country?

Although we associate the US with junk food, the truth is, if you continue to move around, you can find a wide variety of foods from almost all sides of the continent.

Was it hard to find accommodation in Los Angeles?

No, even though the rent is somewhat expensive, if you find a decent area with a shared apartment (roommates), it can cost you about $600 dollars a month.

How much does it cost to live in Los Angeles?

Obviously this always depends on the level of lifestyle that you are going to lead, but I took an average of what it would cost you more or less:

  • $600 for rent.
  • $300 on food, considering that you would be spending $100 dollars per month and that's if you ate at home, followed a diet and didn't include dietary supplements.
  • $200 on gas. It could have been a lot less, but I decided to take advantage of my short stay in the US and take frequent trips to other destinations.
  • Plus the costs of parties, clothes and random expenses.

If you want to live well, you'll need about $1500 dollars.

How's the language? Did you have to take a course at the University?

In my case, I already knew the language but was not fully fluent. I was able to practice the language more when I was there.
