The Kinoteka in Ljubljana

Kinoteka is located in the heart of Ljubljana city. The architecture of the building is beautiful and old, instantly giving the place an historical aspect that suits the function of the cinema.

At the entrance to the cinema, you are greeted by posters of old movies, from All About Eve to Laurence of Arabia. As you open the doors, the comforting aroma of coffee beans greets you. The cinema's cafe is relaxed, cosy and welcoming. It's the kind of place you can picture Greta Garbo ordering a whiskey in. Sitting down for a hot beverage on a cold evening before watching a black and white classic is a perfect way to relax after a long day.

Amazing Experience with Friends or Alone

Their free screenings of old movies just add to the wonderful atmosphere of the place. The theatre itself is relatively small (seating around 200), which actually functions to make the experience more intimate, as the viewers are sharing in the film. Kinoteka is a great place to go and hang out with friends, or to have some alone time, just you and the movies. Cities can sometimes be lonely places to live, but you never feel lonely in Kinoteka.
