What is the food like?

The food is amazing for the ones that like fried stuff and Kebabs, theese little shops are opened until late and their going to feed you in times of need. Besides that, there are a lot of international food restaurants (italians/chineese... ).

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Leuven?

If you are searching for a residence it will be easy: you have the official residences of the university, and the others which I believe are cheeper. I was looking for an appartement and I was lucky to find a place in facebook.

How much does it cost to live in Leuven?

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are free courses in the university.

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Leuven?

Oude Market has a lot of bars, but I specifically recommend "Cafe Belge". Clubbing is not a usual tradition, but there is "Social Club". If you are crazy about drinking join a "cantus" event, it is a tradition among students where you sing and drink until you can't get up. There are also the faculty bars, each one of them has different environments.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

STUK has a really cool cultural agenda and it is also a nice place to have a coffee. It organizes cultural events (free concerts, dance battles, movies... )

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Leuven in the future?

Try as much beer as you can, there is an unbelievable number of variaties, and it is also a unique opportunity to try them.

Travel around by train, Belgium is small and it has beautiful cities.

Travel to other countries, you are in a central place to visit many other countries, and flights are cheep (in Ryanair).

You also have "FlixBus", a lowcost bus company.
