How long does the scholarship lasts? How much money do you get?

My scholarship lasts 5 months (Erasmus study). I get 230€ per month.

How is the student environment in Leuven?

Only one word is needed to describe it: stimulating.

Would you recommend the city and the university of Leuven to other students?

Absolutely.

How is the food in Belgium?

As a southern Italian I din't really enjoy the food, but actually I expected it to be worst.

Was it difficult to find a place where to stay in Leuven?

Not at all! It was really easy: I just went to the housing service and they found me a place.

How much does it cost to live in Leuven?

On average 300€ per month for the rent and 300€ per month for the other expenses (food, fun, travelling). Although paying attention is possible to live out of 550€ per month.

How does it work with the language? Did you attend any class at the university?

In Leuven and Flanders (the northern region of Belgium) it is more than enough to know English to communicate.

I'm attending a free course in Nederland, the first language of Flanders.

What's the cheapest way to get to Leuven from your city?

Bus until Rome, then a flight from Rome to Bruxelles and finally a train from there to Leuven.

Which places do you advice to go out at night in Leuven?

Oude Markt.

I rarely eat out because as I said before I don't really like Belgian food.

And how about cultural spots to see?

Must see in Leuven: university library, Grote Markt, Oude Markt e Grote Begijnhof.

Some advice you will give to future students in Leuven?

Enjoy every single day you spend here because when you'll be back home you'll miss it badly.
