Why did you choose to go to Leuven, Belgium?

Because there is one of the best research centers for nanoelectronics called imec.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

My scholarship was for 6 months and i received 430 euros for month by my University.

What is the student lifestyle like in Leuven?

AMAZING! there are party everywhere and since you are in the centre of Europe you can travel a lot. People want to meet each other! It was the best experience of my life!

Would you recommend the city and the University of Leuven to other students?

Yes without any doubts! I think it is one between the 5 best cities for an Erasmus!

What is the food like?

Especially fries and meat. Let's say that you cannot go in Belgium to find the best foods, but you can find the best beer in the world!

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Leuven?

Yes, I ended up finding one for around 300 euros.

How much does it cost to live in Leuven?

It is quite hard to say, i would say that it is not expensive. If you are able to manage well your money you can live with 500 euros per month.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

The language is Dutch. It is difficult if you are Italian like me. But there are courses and then everybody speak English and French.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Leuven from your city?

By train.

And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Leuven?

Domus, they have the most famous belgian dishes.

What good cultural sites are there to visit?

Bruges, Gent, Antwerp, Bruxelles.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Leuven in the future?

Go in LEUVEN! you will never regret!
