A year in Leon
Why did you choose to go to Leon, Spain?
I has been taken for a year in Alicante but I changed for personal reasons.
How long is your stay for? How much aid do you receive?
My stay lasted for 10 months. I received an Erasmus grant of 800 euros in December and I've received nothing since.
How is student life in Leon?
Weak.
Would you recommend the city and the university of Leon to other students?
Yes.
How is the country's food?
You eat really well there. Every region has its own gastronomic specialities, like Andalusia with the gazpacho or Castile and Léon with its charcuterie.

How did you find your accommodation?
My accommodation was very good: spacious, comfortable, modern and affordable on a financial level.
How are rent prices? And the prices in general?
600 euros for 2 people so 300 euros each. Generally speaking, the price range is between 150 and 400 euros.
How is the learning of the language? Have you been to any language courses organised by the university?
The language learning is done well. Before starting the university year, the University of Leon organised a three week long intensive Spanish course for the Erasmus.
What is the most economic way of getting to Leon from your city?
The bus.
And to eat in Leon? What are your favourite places?
El meson del Burgo, calle Burgo Nuevo. El Botijo.
And what cultural visits do you advise?
Granada, Seville, Salamanca, Madrid, Zamora, Valladolid, Bilbao.
Any advice to give to future students in Leon?
Travel all over Spain.
