Good and bad things about my time in Finland
Ok, I am writing what I like and don't like about Finland, more precisely Rovaniemi and Kuopio. Sure my time here only ends in two and a half months, but I can update it in time.
I'll just get the bad things over with: The winter. It's still not winter time, I can only imagine how bad it will be, but it has been raining a lot in Kuopio and you can see that is getting darker and darker... I don't even feel like going out of the house.
On the other hand, the summer is great! It doesn't get dark, I love that! Yes, my mood depends on the season, which can be very bad for me.
Also, I find things quite expensive here, but there are discounts for students and for instance train tickets for students are 50% less.
Oh and the products in the supermarket don't have English language! Sure, it's an opportunity to learn some Finnish, but it would be easier to go shopping and knowing on the spot what things are.
I also love that in Finland there are bike tracks. You don't have to ride your bike on the road with the cars and trucks. That's very nice.
Well, the nature of course. Lots of lakes and forests. Love that.
And this I find very important: Finland has the cleanest tap water, it tastes good, so I don't have to spend money on water. Imagine how much you save for not having to buy it!
Most people speak English. Finnish is lovely and I learned a bit during the EILC, but it's hard. Luckily, most (young) people speak very good English.
