Spending 5 months exploring Slovakia

If it is about Erasmus experience to the fullest I definitely recommend Slovakia! I was choosen to go for Erasmus to my first option Kosice, which is the second big city in Slovakia. Just to mention a few benefits of choosing Kosice, I would firstly like to point out its amazingly amazing location. You can travel with little money to almost everywhere you want from Kosice and for even more options you can check flights or trains from Bratislava(the capital). So I had the chance to explore 5 different countries in less than 5 months and it wasnt even my maximum possibly travel choices (some of my friends travelled through the whole Europe and some of them even further! ). So if you are a travel junkie dont hasitate! Kosice is your place.

Secondly, I have to mention the low prices. Slovakia and especially Kosice was very cheap to me (I'm coming from Greece, so everything was about 50% lower than in Athens, my home city). Just to mention that I was staying at the dorms of my Uni(UPJS, MEI HOSTEL) and I had to pay monthly 100e just for the rent! Also, I could have lunch from 2, 50e or average (around 6e) depending on the restaurant (not to mention the alcohol which was ridiculously cheap! ) As a city is small but still there are plenty things to do there! The downtown is really beautiful to me. Although the weather could be a little taugh during the winter days (-14 degrees was the maximum I got there) you can still enjoy Kosice covered by snow! The erasmus life there is satisfying as ESN does a really good job there organising a lot of activities but also, there some good pubs to enjoy wine or beer(tabacka is my favorite one) and some nice clubs downtown(Jazz, Noise). To conclude, Kosice is all about fun, low prices and travelling around! Enjoy your erasmus to the maximum! xx
