Why did you choose to go to Košice, Slovakia?

Kosice was first introduced to me by a friend; however, later, I found it nice to study. Prices are reasonable, architecture and landscapes are ok, transport is cheap and the weather is nice. Moreover, although Slovakia is not an English-speaking country and the majority of people cannot speak English, teachers are quite good in English.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

I study here because I receive a six years long student loan, a study allowance, and half of the tuition fees are paid for me.

What is the student lifestyle like in Košice?

It depends on your personal features, but, in general, I found the students happy with the student lifestyle here in Košice.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Kosice to other students?

Yes.

What is the food like?

I usually cook at home and do not dine out. However, I have been able to get what I have needed so far except Halal meat.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Košice?

Not really. I was lucky to find a nice flat online simply by googling before I arrived in Košice.

How much does it cost to live in Košice?

It varies from person to person and depends on personal expenditure and needs. However, in general, prices are reasonable in Kosice.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Slovak courses have been included in the university curriculum. Concerning the language itself, it is not a problem for me, although it is true that there is a lot of Slovak grammar to learn.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Košice in the future?

I think students should study a lot in Košice. In fact, I recommend preparing yourself well for the entrance examination, not just knowing the answers by heart.
