Why did you choose to go to Kosice, Slovakia?
Because it's cheaper than my country and it's in the "middle" of the Europe.
How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?
It lasts 1 semester and I received 800 euros.
What is the student lifestyle like in Kosice?
For me (i'm studying mechanical engineering) the classes are very easy and the professores are really nice. TUKE have great conditions.
Would you recommend the city and the University of Kosice to other students?
Yes, of course! The city is small, but have a lot of entertainment.
What is the food like?
The slovakian food is very different of what I'm used to eat. In Kosice there are a lot of restaurants, especially fast-food restaurants.
Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Kosice?
No, i'm in a dormitory and it was very easy to get the room.
How much does it cost to live in Kosice?
Around 300 euros.
Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?
Tha language is a little hard to learn. Yes, TUKE offers Slovak courses
What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Kosice from your city?
Plane to Bratislava and then train.
Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Kosice?
Colosseum, Jazz...
And for eating? Can you recommend some good restaurants in Kosice?
Big Pizza and Geronimo.
What good cultural sites are there to visit?
The State Theatre, the cathedral, Spiš' castle, Jakabov Palác, Vyhliadkova veza Hradova, the city center...
Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Kosice in the future?
In the winter is really cold, bring warm clothes.
