What is it like to live in Kortrijk? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

It is a rather smaller city, but everything you need is there. I would recommend people be open and social. It is very nice, that if you go out, you will probably meet the same people that you've seen before, since the city is small you bump into the same students. Which I personally really like!

What is the student lifestyle like in Kortrijk?

A lot of student activities are organised, be sure you be updated (mostly this happens on fb). There are certainly some good parties and nice bars, but you just need to know where.

How much does it cost to live in Kortrijk?

Cheaper than most student cities.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Kortrijk? Is there any advice you can give?

No, there are enough free rooms. Close to your school there are always the nicest.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

You have to try Pauls Boutique, they have the best hamburgers!

What places would you recommend visiting in Kortrijk?

Buda Beach, bars, cafés... There are a lot of small and cosy places to hang out.

Is the nightlife good in Kortrijk? Where is good to go?

First, you should go to a bar and afterwards go out to party around 11h-11h30.

There are student clubs which organize the best parties. The best day to go out is Thursday.

What advice would you give future students heading to Kortrijk?

If you are open and friendly, it is very easy to get to know the other students and they will involve you with the student life. Get to know the other Erasmus students, but also the local students.
