What is it like to live in Kortrijk? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Kortrijk is a nice and beautiful city. It isn't big and is not extremely famous, but everyone I know who went there has fallen in love with the city. This is probably because it is a cosy and small city. Public transport is not that good inside Kortrijk, so if you go there, do it on foot or get a bike. There are a lot of places where you can easily rent one. There are also lots of places where you can go if you have a flat tire.

How much does it cost to live in Kortrijk?

Some advice: it is not the most expensive city and there are some really cheap places to go, but if you want to save money then just go to colruyt to buy your food. They have the lowest prices for as far as I know and they have a lot! If you need anything just go there first to see if they have it or not.

Is it good to eat out in Kortrijk? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Kortrijk is not the cheapest city ever, but it's not too expensive either. There are some places where you can eat out for a really low price.

Is the nightlife good in Kortrijk? Where is good to go?

The nightlife is not very impressive in Kortrijk. Get to know some people from there and they will invite you to some fun events. Another thing you can do is take the train to Ghent for a fun night out and take the first train back. The place I went to in Kortrijk is Cafe 56 (there are every once in a while events from ESN that are worth going to).

What advice would you give future students heading to Kortrijk?

One thing is a must if you're staying in Kortrijk for a longer period: get a bike! It is not that expensive and you can easily go to many places. You might dislike it because of the rain, but overall you won't regret it.
