I choose this city because it has a lot of travelling possibilities and my university has a partner university here.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

It lasts 5 months and I get around 300 Euro per month.

What is the student lifestyle like in Kortrijk?

nice, but it is a small town.

Would you recommend the city and the University of Kortrijk to other students?

Yes, I would recommend it. The city organized for all international students a big welcoming event and we go a lot for free (e.g. Belgian sim card for the mobilphone). HOWEST is a very good university. There are many practical courses and the teachers are very motivated.

What is the food like?

Chocolate and fries are traditional food.

Did it cost you to find your accommodation in Kortrijk?

No, but I needed a lot of time.

How much does it cost to live in Kortrijk?

My room was 290 Euro/month all inclusive.

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

There are no language courses available for Dutch. However, most people speak English pretty well.
