Why did you choose to go to Klagenfurt, Austria?

I wanted to learn German.

How long is the scholarship? How much money do you receive to help you with living costs?

5 months and I received 500 euros/month. The rent is around 250 in a shared room. It can be more expensive though. Hofer has really good prices.

Yes, of course.

What is the food like?

Delicious!

Yes

How much does it cost to live in Klagenfurt?

250-350 euro (in a dormitory)

Is the language easy to get to grips with? Are there language courses available at the University?

Yes, to both question. But, there is a little problem. Klagenfurt people have different accent from standard German, so it can be pretty difficult to understand them.

What's the easiest or most economical way to travel to Klagenfurt from your city?

By foot :))

By bus, I would say. 2, 1 euro -60 minutes ticket.

I've heard that, if you spend a year here, the first 2 months are free (if you make a pass which normally is 35 euros/month)

Where would you recommend to go on a night out in Klagenfurt?

Hm, difficult question. I don't know. Maybe Die Burg, in the city centre.

Is there any other advice that you could give to students going to Klagenfurt in the future?

Yes!

If you like to travel a lot and by train, you should make the Vortails card. It's 19 euros/year and you can get 50% off the entire price. Also, if you have an Austrian bank account, I think it will be free.

And people...are very respectful, but not so friendly. :)
