Greek Party at Lilukka 9.11.2012
Last Friday there was a Greek Party rocking the Kortepohja region (where most of the students live) in Jyväskylä! The Greeks living in the city decided to throw a party for their friends, socialize, chat, eat, drink, dance and haaaave fun! We weren't celebrating for anything, it was just Friday night and we didn't have any plans for this night. So we booked a place called Lilukka, hold by the Student Union, from Friday 6pm to Saturday 12am and partied until the last minute!
At first, we gathered at 8 and prepared the place; organized the space, went to the super market and bought some snacks for the guests, adjusted the settings for the music and so on. At 10 people started coming and the dj (one of us Greeks, played the mainstream pop music. Apparently the party wasn't as people expected, traditional with Greek music and Greek drinks. It was just an ordinary party, only organized by Greeks. There were also a few Greek songs and one of us danced to the tunes of Zorbas.
A juggler friend also brought his balls and fiery sticks and made a small performance for the guests in order to warm them up.
At 01:00am there was a Finnish dj playing trance and psychedelic music for about 3 hours until he was changed by another Finnish dj (and friend of ours) that continued playing the same kind of music. Everyone was dancing until the next morning when we only stopped in order to clean up behind us and leave the space for the people that were next to use it.
All in all, it was a success and everyone had a great time. Hmmm maybe we should make it a monthly event, shouldn't we? Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures to share; there were so many interesting things going on that I forgot to take any pictures of the happenings!
