What is it like to live in Jyväskylä? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?
Jyvaskyla is a city of education or you can say that student city. Jyvaskyla have different lakes, forests and hills within a walking distance of the city Center. Skiing centers and entertainment areas with great opportunities for winter sports and other activities. Jyvaskyla is a quite silent and noise free city. Jyvaskyla City Library is eligible to offer more immigrant content in its native language. If you want to travel around Finland during your studies, then Jyvaskyla is the right place for you.
What is the student lifestyle like in Jyväskylä?
According to me, it is different from other countries. The university's student card is very helpful for the students. A number of facilities are provided to the student on that card.
They can also get a discount on every shopping and traveling. At the university's cafeteria, they get good food at cheaper prices, every year thousands of students come from different countries to study. But understanding and speaking the basic language is very difficult.
How much does it cost to live in Jyväskylä?
A student can rent a room or an entire flat. If you rent a house, it is more expensive than a room. A room is always for a person and it is located in a flat with two or three rooms. There are few other options to stay in private flats, but for one person this can be very expensive. Hotels and cottage bits are expensive compared to flat blocks.

My favorite dishes are always rajmah (red beans) and sweets, but they are not available in Jyvaskyla.

I almost prepare food at home but one day on Saturday I go out with my friends. I prefer to go to McDonald's and Shalimar Restro.
Is the nightlife good in Jyväskylä? Where is good to go?
In the Javanese area, bars and nightclubs invite you to have an enjoyable evening time, it’s a part of your life. Whether you are on vacation or for business, or education. After having a fun night in the town you will feel relax.
There are many pubs and discos where you can go like Freedom, Bra 2, Escape it depends on the person's choice.
What advice would you give future students heading to Jyväskylä?
According to my experience, Jyvaskyla is great for studies, living and travelling. Just Arrange to stay before you leave. There is no need to worry. University Management is very cooperative with students and Finnish people is a little bit shy towards talking with foreigners but they are helpful. Enjoy the nature and nightlife of Jyvaskyla.
