What is it like to live in Istanbul? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

Istanbul is one of the biggest metropol cities in the world. As a student I currently live in Istanbul since 2014 and I can say that it is beautiful city with a whole. But of course there are some annoying things which as traffic and overpopulation. But after somewhile you get used to it. But I highly recommend to the students and everyone abroad to come visit Istanbul. It is a city that everyone in the world should see at least once.

What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?

It is a little more expensive than the other cities of Turkey. But of course there are many positive things too. There are a lot of oppurtunities for any student from Turkey and abroad. Like finding a good business connection and a lot of activities to do. Also living in a beautiful city gives you inspiration.

How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?

Of course it depends on the place you live and how you live. But a regular student can live with the 1200-2000 tl per month. But of course there is no limit for higher. There are places to stay and things to do and eat for any economic sector.

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Istanbul? Is there any advice you can give?

No accually there are a lot of private and university dorms which you can stay. Also it is better if you stay in a rental house with a few friends. Also there are a lot of people who rents rooms for students etc.

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

Turkey and also Istanbul is a very good taste for food. I recommend anyone abroad to come at least once and eat turkish food. They will love it I bet. I like most of the dishes of Turkish culture.
