What is it like to live in Istanbul? Would you recommend it? What is the city like?

The city is amazing, full of historical views and places remainders of Great Ottoman Empire.

What is the student lifestyle like in Istanbul?

Most of the Erasmus students in Istanbul, lives near the Taksim Square, the heart of the city. So they can do shop, party whatever they want anytime at all hours of day and night

How much does it cost to live in Istanbul?

Depends on the lifestyle, but a 700-800 a month (all included, the rent, transportation etc) euros would be enough for an average life

Is it difficult to find accommodation in Istanbul? Is there any advice you can give?

No, there are so many districts that students can live in. I recommend students to live close to Taksim, Besiktas or Kadikoy

What is the food like? What are your favourite dishes?

When it comes to food, Istanbul is the best place to be, by far. Turkish cuisine is quite diverse. My favorite is Turkish tortellini called "manti"

What places would you recommend visiting in Istanbul?

The Golden Horn where all the famous museums and mosques are located. And also the Bosphorus where you can see both Europe and Asia. They should not be stuck in Taksim area and better visit other places in Asia part, The Caddebostan beach, for instance. It is the only beach that you can swim in the city center. and surrounded by fancy bars.

Is it good to eat out in Istanbul? Can you tell us your favourite spots?

Midpoint is one of the best restaurants in Istanbul. You can find it almost every district. Apart from this, there are plenty of famous restaurants with diverse menus

Is the nightlife good in Istanbul? Where is good to go?

Sometimes it is getting to crowded on saturday nights but nightlife is fair enough in Istanbul. The best place to be at night is Taksim and Kadikoy

What advice would you give future students heading to Istanbul?

Be relax, you are going to have a lot of fun.
